New rafts this year on our scenic stretch

    This year we bought some new rafts for our scenic rafting trip.  These new rafts allow for a more confortable float with improved leg room and they are lighter for easier loading and unloading.  We purchased these custom rafts from NRS who supplies almost all of our rafting gear.  We have very much enjoyed having these this year and here are two pictures of the new rafts on the water!

"Ileri!”: A Turkish Adventure in Jackson with Teton Whitewater

   

   We had an international week on whitewater in Jackson, WY last week. A group of Turkish friends made reservations with Teton Whitewater for a corporate trip. The group signed up for the "small boat slam" which intensifies the whitewater experience by putting the group on a smaller boat. They are able to punch holes and hit every wave in the smallest boat on the river.  They shared different turkish phrases with their river guide. "Ileri!" which is translated as "All Forward!" proved to be the most memorable phrase for Adam, their whitewater river guide. As seen in the picture provided by Snake River Photo , the small boat approaches the Lunch Counter Rapid and our whitewater guide yells, "Ileri!" and the group responds with "Ileri! Hey!" Our friends from Turkey had a blast and we had a great time taking them on a whitewater river rafting trip during their stay in Jackson Hole, Wyoming.

*Notice that the gentleman in the middle has two hats on his head*  Through the first wave of Lunch counter, Danae's prized "Whitewater" hat flew completely off her head and landed on the head of the guy sitting behind her.  Through the rapid Danae was yelling "MY HAT!! I lost my hat!"  After the trip I loved looking up the photos to see everyone's face.  It was great taking this group down the river.

Our Adventure Enthusiasts

On Saturday, we had the pleasure of taking these adventure enthusiasts down the river. With wetsuits and matching headbands for the occasion, they took on the Snake river.

Now on their 3rd year, they decided to step up their game and get matching t-shirts to remember the occasion.

Teton Whitewater is thrilled to be apart of the these friend's Teton tradition. See you next summer!

2014 Rather be Raftin'

After last week's storms, we are happy to see the sun piercing through the clear skies.  It's perfect for rafting!
Winter treated us all well here at Teton Whitewater, and we are happy to be back on the river.  We have a lot of returning guides for the 2014 year as well as some new eager beavers and we love'em.  Their demonstration of talent and skill is impressive.
Come on in and we will get you set up for a whitewater or scenic trip!  The Lunch Counter rapid is still great and it's one of my favorites.

 

Off to a great start in Summer 2013

This summer has already been a ton of fun and we are just entering the busy season!  This summer will be a lot of fun as the water levels should remain as they are till August.  Lunch Counter will have a long season and we can't wait until Big Kahuna shows up as well.

Old Time Photos

Yippy-I-kai-yay! We just love getting our old time photos taken at the Velvet Rope photo shop every year. It seems that when you get our crew dressed in fishnets and leather chaps their true colors come out :) Mountain Man Bret (back center) really took his character to heart in this photo. So scary...
